2017 Pictures Baylee Womack and Chanda Pfinston sang a medley of thanksgiving hymns for us on November 19. We had a beautiful display to enhance our worship on Thanksgiving Sunday. The Elders delivered six boxes of food to needy families for Thanksgiving on November 16. We ended up putting together 126 gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child. On November 12 we started putting together our Operation Christmas Child gift boxes. We had our annual Thanksgiving Dinner on November 12. It was a great time of feasting and fellowship at our Thanksgiving Dinner. The Mexico Circle met for the last time on November 7. We observed All Saints Day on November 5. We remembered seven of our members who have passed on to glory. Andrew Hinz sang "Wonderful, Merciful, Savior" for us on November 5. The CMF had their monthly men's breakfast on November 5. The CWF held their annual Christmas Bazaar on November 4. Ten members participated in our Fall Mission Trip to Louisville on October 28. Debbie Enyart helped residents paint pumpkins. Bonita Summers assists with one of the games. Sandy Hester helped the residents with a craft. Happy the Clown spread some love in Louisville. The CMF had their fall Boston Butt Sale on October 28. The Senior Saints visited Cates Farm on October 17. Amy Cates provided the Senior Saints a wonderful meal. Gail Myers read the Senior Saints a spooky story. The church had a reception for Chuck on October 15 for Pastor's Appreciation Day. We celebrated World Communion Sunday on October 1. The CMF had their monthly men's breakfast on October 1. The Senior Saints met for a potluck dinner on September 26/ The beautiful Celebrant Chairs have been donated to the church by the Marable family in memory of Ronnie Marable. These custom handmade pottery pieces have been donated by the Myers family in memory of Jim Myers. One of our ongoing ministries is collecting shoes for Water Step. The deacons had their annual Pork Chop Dinner fundraiser on September 20. We had 325 people show up to receive clothes at our Clothing Giveaway on September 16. The Jamaica-Naomi Circle meets the first Monday of each month. On September 7 Shirley Cobb transferred her membership to FCCH. We had a handbell ensemble play for us on September 3. The CMF had their monthly men's breakfast on September 3. Throughout the summer the deacons collected hygiene products for Jefferson Elementary School. The Senior Saints went to Audubon State Park on August 15 and came back to the church for a potluck dinner. The CWF delivered two large baskets of socks, underwear and school supplies to South Middle School and Jefferson Elementary School on August 14. The Cookie Brigade delivered home baked goods to South Middle School on August 8. The Jamaica Circle meets the first Monday of each month. The CMF had a men's breakfast on August 6. The Senior Saints went to Red Lobster to eat on July 18. Jenny Howard joined our church on July 16. The CMF had their monthly men's breakfast on July 2. Todd Spangler did a concert for us on June 25. The Hospitality Committee provided Chalice cookies for everyone on Pentecost Sunday. We honored our high school and college graduates on May 21. A special saxophone quartet played "Amazing Grace" for us on May 21. The CWF held their annual Mother/Daughter Banquet on May 15. Elliot, Terri, Isaac and Abbie Myers were models for the style show. Tony and Sue Cagle modeled clothes from Goodys at the Mother/Daughter Banquet. These were all the models for the style show held as part of the Mother/Daughter Banquet. The Cookie Brigade delivered home-baked goods to the Telemetry Unit at Methodist Hospital on May 8. H. P. Hazelwood was baptized on May 7. We welcome H. P. to God's family and FCC. The CMF had their monthly Men's Breakfast on May 7. On April 30 we were blessed to have McKenzie Marable join our church family. The Senior Saints gathered for a potluck dinner on April 18. The CWF ladies have made prayer shawls and lap quilts for local nursing home residents. We had a great crowd and serve on Easter, April 16. The sanctuary was decorated with beautiful flowers for Easter. We joined with Zion United Church of Christ and Community Baptist Church for a Good Friday service. We held our annual Good Friday Prayer Vigil on April 14. On April 9 we welcomed Kim Renfrow into our church family. The children brought in the palms on Palm Sunday, April 9. The choir presented the musical, "Come Let Us Reason," on April 9. On March 26 Ron & June Skaggs, Teri Cobb and Barbara Kammerlohr were installed as deacons. On March 26 Meredith Gold and Abbie Myers were installed as junior deacons. Terry Cobb joined our church on March 26. We held our Spring Dinner on March 26. The kids enjoyed eating together at the Spring Dinner. We held our Easter Egg Hunt following the Spring Dinner. The CMF held their spring Boston Butt fundraiser on March 25. The Senior Saints had a potluck dinner on March 21. Jessica Beaven spoke to the senior adults about the new Colonial Assisted Living facility. On March 20 we were able to pay off all school lunch debts at South Middle School. On March 19 these five individuals were installed as new deacons by the church. Current deacons gathered around three of our newly installed deacons on March 19. We had a big turnout for our community Lenten service and dinner on March 8. The CWF ladies put in lot of time preparing for the community Lenten dinner. The CMF held their monthly men's breakfast on March 5. These individuals helped serve the meal at Camp Smores at South Middle School on February 21. Susie Middleton and Carolyn Dorsey led the senior adults in singing some oldie but goodie tunes. Most of our seniors came dressed in red to the Valentine luncheon. The Senior Saints had a Valentines lunchenon on Feb. 14. Isaac and Elliot Myers performed at our Sweetheart Breakfast. The CMF sponsored a church-wide Sweetheart Breakfast on Feb. 12. We had a great turnout for the Sweetheart Breakfast. The CWF sponsored a "Souper Bowl" Fundraiser on Feb. 5. It was a huge success! The youth made cookies at their Super Bowl Party on February 5. On January 17 the Senior Saints went to Bandanas in Evansville to eat. The church board had their annual planning session on January 8. We witnessed Meredith Gold and Baylee Womack's baptism on January 8.
